Schoolgirls, Zombies, & Awkward Silence

I recently picked up a manga by the name of Velveteen & Mandala. I was curious about it because I had never heard of this thing and the artwork on the cover looked very nice. What I found myself reading was a very… interesting piece of work. Ostensibly Velveteen & Mandala is the tale of two girls and their misadventures in zombie extermination, and for the most part that is what it delivers. It has a very slice of life feel to it, albeit presented in a slightly twisted manner.
